ATLANTA, July 18 (UPI) -- Tim McGraw "swatted" a fan at his July 13 concert in Atlanta.

A video of the incident surfaced this week that appears to capture the 47-year-old singer smacking a woman in the face.

The footage shows McGraw as he performs his song "Truck Yeah" amid a sea of fans and touches hands with people in the audience. He gives the fan in question a smack after she attempts to get his attention and grabs onto his jeans when she is rebuffed.

"Tim was singing out in the audience and someone firmly grabbed onto his leg and wouldn't let go as he was moving through the crowd. He instinctively swatted to try to keep them from ripping his jeans (which they succeeded in doing!), and so he could get to more fans who could slap hands with him before the end of the show," a rep tells TMZ.

Security swiftly stepped in and removed the woman from the concert. McGraw is currently on his Sundown Heaven tour and performs in Brooklyn, Mich., on Friday.
