LONDON, July 2 (UPI) -- Harry Styles is not leaving One Direction for a solo career.

The 20-year-old singer recently teamed up with Irish band Kodaline in the studio, sparking speculation that he planned to quit. A representative for Styles issued a statement Wednesday to put breakup rumors to rest.

"There are no plans for Harry to release any solo music at this time," the rep asserts. "Any writing that he is doing is for potential One Direction songs. It's common knowledge that the boys write separately and bring to each other for the album."

Styles and bandmate Liam Payne denied a different breakup rumor earlier this year. Payne joked in a joint interview with The Sun that the band has no desire to be on The Big Reunion, a British show that documents reunions between bands that have split, any time soon.

"We don't want to be on The Big Reunion next year," the singer said. "We don't want to be on The Big Reunion ever. Well, maybe in 2050."

One Direction released their third studio album, Midnight Memories, in November 2013. The band kicked off their Where We Are tour April 25 in Bogota, Columbia, and wrap up October 5 in Miami, Fla.
