VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 26 (UPI) -- Grimes has returned after a lengthy hiatus.

The 26-year-old singer released new song "Go" on Wednesday, her first music in almost two years. She originally wrote the track with Blood Diamonds for Rihanna, but recorded it herself after the R&B star rejected it.

"It's our summer jam so we figured we should put it out 'cuz I am very bored of waiting to finish my album b4 releasing new music haha," the singer wrote in a statement.

Grimes came to fame in 2012 with her synthpop album Visions. The record is her third studio release, and includes the popular songs "Genesis" and "Oblivion." She has not announced a release date for her new album.
