Lady Gaga cancels shows: 'Ursula took my mermaid voice'

Ursula steals Ariel's voice and traps it in a shell in "The Little Mermaid."

NEW YORK, May 29 (UPI) -- Lady Gaga... mermaid?

The 28-year-old singer has postponed her concerts in Seattle and Vancouver due to illness. She is unable to sing, and took to Twitter on Wednesday to offer an explanation:

Lady Gaga went on to write, "My deepest apologies to Seattle and Vancouver, we'll reschedule those shows & be back to make it up to you. I [heart] monsters. #sadgaga."

The shows were scheduled stops on the singer's artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball tour. The tour promotes her most recent album, Artpop, and kicked off May 4 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
