MELBOURNE , May 20 (UPI) -- Janelle Monáe has cancelled her upcoming Australasian tour over a mysterious illness.

Live Nation, the company promoting the tour, announced the news Tuesday following the singer's first concert cancellation in Melbourne on Saturday.

"Due to Janelle Monáe's continuing illness it has been confirmed that the remainder of 'The Golden Electric Tour' has been cancelled and there will be no rescheduled performances," Live Nation wrote.

Monáe's Golden Electric Tour was a joint tour with Kimbra. The singers were supposed to perform in five cities in 10 days including Brisbane on Thursday; Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday; and again in Melbourne next Monday.

The "Q.U.E.E.N." singer reportedly fell ill before her performance in Melbourne's The Forum Saturday.

Monae's tour is scheduled to come to the U.S. on May 31. There is no word on whether the American shows will also be affected by the singer's illness.
