MIAMI, May 19 (UPI) -- American rapper Pitbull -- aka Armando Christian Pérez -- has sued a spirits company for using his stage name in one of their vodka cocktails.

TMZ reports the 33-year-old "Wild Wild Love" singer filed a federal suit against E. & J. Winery & New Amsterdam Spirits Company over their vodka recipe "The Pit Bull."

In his claim, Pitbull states that the brand's recipe is confusing the marketplace -- the rapper has a deal to endorse Voli Vodka -- and that New Amsterdam is using his name, which has been trademarked since 2000, without permission.

Pitbull is reportedly asking for New Amsterdam to remove his name from its website and to receive all profits made off of his name.
