Pitbull to host New Year's Eve special on Fox

The "Timber" and "On the Floor" singer will lead the countdown to 2015 in Miami.

MIAMI, May 12 (UPI) -- The popular rapper Pitbull is to host a New Year's Eve television special in his hometown of Miami, Fox announced.

Pitbull's New Year's Revolution will include guest appearances by numerous music stars, as well as a high-energy countdown to 2015.

"Pitbull is one of the most charismatic entertainers in the world. We are thrilled he has chosen Fox as the home from which to launch his New Year's Revolution," Simon Andreae, Fox's executive vice president of alternative entertainment, said in a statement. "This event will be packed with chart-topping acts and can't-miss surprises. With Pitbull in charge, it's sure to be the hottest party on the planet."
