Lorde to perform new song 'Tennis Court' at the Billboard Music Awards

This will be the first time Lorde sings the song on television.

LAS VEGAS , May 9 (UPI) -- New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde is to perform her new single "Tennis Court" on the 2014 Billboard Music Awards telecast, the show's producers announced.

This will be the first time the "Royals" singer performs "Tennis Court" on television.

The 17-year-old recording artist joins a star-studded lineup of previously announced performers, which includes 5 Seconds of Summer, Florida Georgia Line, Imagine Dragons, Jason Derulo, Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, Luke Bryan, Miley Cyrus, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, OneRepublic, Pitbull and Ricky Martin.

The 2014 Billboard Music Awards ceremony is to be broadcast live on ABC from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas May 18.
