Autobiographical Gloria Estefan musical to debut on Broadway

NEW YORK, April 28 (UPI) -- Autobiographical Gloria Estefan musical On Your Feet is headed to Broadway.

The 56-year-old Cuban-born singer confirmed the project to the NY Daily News over the weekend.

"It's going to be daunting," she admits. "But I have no doubt whatsoever that we are going to be able to do it and so much fun to be a part of the processes."

Estefan and her team plan to find three actresses/singers to play the star at different ages. The search will be conducted worldwide, and the women will be chosen via a reality television show.

The musical features songs in English and Spanish, and covers Estefan's life and career. Some highlights include the singer's early years in Miami and her subsequent recovery from a near-fatal car accident in 1990.

On Your Feet will debut in 2015.
