LOS ANGELES, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Irish rock band U2 is to perform its Oscar-nominated song, "Ordinary Love," at the Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles next month.

Show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced the group's participation Wednesday.

This will be the first time U2 performs the song live. "Ordinary Love" was written by the group for "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom." It is nominated for Best Original Song, along with "Happy" from "Despicable Me 2," "Let It Go" from "Frozen" and "The Moon Song" from "Her."

The Oscars ceremony is to take place March 2, with Ellen DeGeneres to serve as host.
