LOS ANGELES, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Anna Gordy Gaye, the ex-wife of Marvin Gaye, has died in Los Angeles of natural causes, her family said. She was 92.

Gordy Gaye, who was the sister of Motown Records founder Berry Gordy, died Friday, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Gordy named a subsidiary of Motown Records after his sister, Anna Records, under which Gaye recorded much of his early work.

She was responsible for co-writing a number of songs with Gaye, including "Baby I'm For Real" and "The Bells," the Times said.

Gordy called his sister "the glamor girl of the family."

"She backed me up on everything I tried to do and gave me the confidence to be what I wanted to be," he said Friday.

Gordy Gaye is survived by her brother and a son, Marvin Gaye III.
