"The first-ever Icon Award was created to honor an artist whose body of work has made a profound influence over pop music on a global level," producer Larry Klein said in a statement about the 25-year-old singer. "Rihanna's iconic and innovative sound has enabled her to become one of the most influential and best-selling artists of all time."
The prize presentation is to be broadcast live on ABC Nov. 24 from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE.
As previously announced, Luke Bryan, Miley Cyrus, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Imagine Dragons, Kendrick Lamar, Jennifer Lopez, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, One Direction, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, TLC and the event's host, Pitbull, will all perform at the event.
