DETROIT, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Detroit rapper Eminem's childhood home, which was featured on "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" album cover, has been badly damaged in a fire, TMZ reported Friday.

Officials told the celebrity news website they are investigating what caused the blaze on the second floor of the 767-square-foot, two-story bungalow Thursday evening.

The house has changed owners about 10 times since the rapper's mother bought it in 1987 for $19,900. The bungalow was eventually abandoned and is currently owned by a bank, TMZ said.
