Pop singer Austin Mahone treated for blood clot, dehydration

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Austin Mahone's publicist says the U.S. pop star is being treated for a blood clot and dehydration at an undisclosed hospital.

Mahone, 17, was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital Thursday and subsequently canceled his planned concert tour.

His representative told People.com Friday the singer "was admitted to the hospital with 104 temperature and is being treated for a blood clot and extreme inflammation in his throat, as well as severe dehydration."

The magazine did not say when the teen is expected to be discharged from the hospital.
