Justin Bieber documentary to open Dec. 25

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- "Believe," a documentary about Canadian pop star Justin Bieber, is to open in North America Christmas Day, Open Road Films announced.

Directed by Jon M. Chu, "Believe" features new interviews with Bieber and appearances by his manager Scooter Braun, and musician friends Usher Raymond, Rodney Jerkins, Ludacris and Mike Posner.

Each Monday prior to the movie's release, Bieber will release new songs exclusively through iTunes.

Last week, he unveiled the hit "HeartBreaker." He released "All That Matters" this past Monday.

"I am so excited to be involved in this movie, and so happy to be able to give back to my fans, especially during the holiday season," Bieber said in a statement Wednesday. "Jon Chu and my team have done a wonderful job creating a special moment for Beliebers worldwide and I can't wait till Christmas Day when the movie will be in theaters everywhere."

"It's no secret that Justin Bieber's name drives a lot of attention," said Braun. "But with 'Believe,' we wanted him to tell his own story, truthfully and directly. The No. 1 goal of our company is to provide global audiences with content that's not only high-quality and forward-thinking, but also authentic."
