Lauryn Hill released from federal prison in Connecticut

DANBURY, Conn., Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Singer-songwriter Lauryn Hill has been released from a federal prison in Danbury, Conn., after serving her three-month sentence for tax evasion, officials said.

Hill, 38, had been behind bars since July 8, TMZ said Friday.

The erstwhile Fugees singer was convicted of failing to pay taxes on more than $1.8 million in income she earned between 2005 and 2007.
