NEW YORK, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Rocker Alice Cooper is in talks to play the Green Goblin in the Broadway musical "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark," the New York Post reported.

The 3-year-old show's producers hope having Cooper in the cast will be a draw in January and February when theater attendance traditionally dips.

The Post said Cooper could earn $150,000 a week if he joins the cast.

The blockbuster musical "Turn Off the Dark" features music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge of U2, and a book co-written by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, with direction by Taymor and Philip William McKinley.
