CINCINNATI, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- The Bengals will no longer enter the field to Katy Perry's "Roar" after complaints from fans on social media, the team's representatives said.
Fans on Twitter said the song was not tough enough and not appropriate for football, the Cincinnati Enquirer said.
"Pregame is where the most angst came from," Jeff Berding, the team's director of sales and public affairs, said. "Fans have an expectation of certain music they want to get fired up to before the game. We're always trying new things. We have a diverse fan base and are trying to find a mix that entertains them."
"Roar" will still be part of the play list, but team representatives did not say when it would be played.
The team has tweaked their play list over the past three years and has been responding to fan requests, the Enquirer said.
