DMX arrested in South Carolina for outstanding warrant

GREENVILLE, S.C., Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Earl Simmons, the rapper known as DMX, has been arrested on an outstanding warrant in South Carolina, police sources told TMZ.

The hip-hop artist was a passenger in a truck stopped by officers for making an illegal lane change Tuesday night.

TMZ said Simmons, 42, was drunk, belligerent and in possession of marijuana when police pulled over the vehicle.

Once they saw there was an active warrant for Simmons' arrest from a previous driving without a license case, they took him to the Greer County jail where he remained Wednesday morning.
