Miguel released on $5,000 bail after DUI arrest

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Singer-songwriter Miguel was released on $5,000 bail after he was arrested in Los Angeles for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, police said.

ABC News reported officers stopped the Grammy Award winner in his BMW X6 at 2:15 a.m. PT Thursday for speeding and for having tinted windows, then determined he was intoxicated.

A sobriety test indicated he had a blood alcohol level of .10, which is beyond the .08 legal limit in California, police said.

He is due back in court Sept. 9, ABC News said.
