CULVER CITY, Calif., Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Cody Simpson's "La Da Dee" is to play over the end credits of the upcoming U.S. family film "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2," Sony Pictures Animation said.

Simpson will also be shooting a music video that will incorporate footage from the film, Lia Vollack, president of Worldwide Music for Sony Pictures announced Monday.

"'La Da Dee' is a bright, fresh, fun song that strikes the perfect tone to end 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.' Cody is a wonderful and talented recording artist who appeals to kids and their parents alike -- he's a perfect fit with the world of the film," Vollack said in a statement.

The song is the lead track on Simpson's new album, "Surfers Paradise."

"Cloud with a Chance of Meatballs" is due in North American theaters Sept. 27.
