Jack White's estranged wife requests restraining order

NASHVILLE, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- A Tennessee judge has granted Karen Elson's request for a restraining order against her estranged husband Jack White, court records show.

Elson complained the musician has been harassing her via phone and email in recent months and pressuring her into a settlement agreement regarding the parenting of their two young children, The [Nashville] Tennessean reported.

The couple announced two years ago they had split "amicably," however, their divorce proceedings have apparently hit a snag, the newspaper said.

"He has persisted in discouraging her from communicating with or taking advice from her counsel in [an] effort to coerce her into acting against her and the parties' minor children's best interests, often by emails laced with profanity and calling [his] wife derogatory names," the filing stated. "These communications are often threatening in nature and the wife fears for her and the children's safety as a result of this harassment."
