MELBOURNE, July 26 (UPI) -- Representatives for R&B artist Frank Ocean say he has canceled his sold-out Australian concert tour because he has a tear in one of his vocal cords.

The Hollywood Reporter said the announcement was made after Ocean suffered voice problems Thursday night at Melbourne's Festival Hall, the first stop on his Australian tour.

"After last night's concert ... it was necessary to seek medical advice due to vocal issues Frank Ocean experienced during the show," Live Nation said in a statement Friday. "It has subsequently been confirmed that Frank has suffered a small tear to one of his vocal chords and has received medical advice that he must rest his voice."
