QUEBEC CITY, July 26 (UPI) -- Pop star Celine Dion and her manager husband, Rene Angelil, are to be recognized with Order of Canada honors in Quebec City, CBC News said.

Dion was promoted to the order's highest level of companion in 2008 and will be officially invested Friday afternoon at the ceremony.

Angelil will become a member of the order after being appointed last November, the CBC said.

The couple are being recognized for their contributions to the music industry and their humanitarian work.
