CAMPINAS, Brazil, July 8 (UPI) -- Daniel Pellegrine, a Brazilian funk artist known professionally as MC Daleste, was fatally shot while performing in Campinas, Billboard.com said Monday.
Pellegrine, 20, was singing on stage at a public housing building Saturday night when a bullet struck him in the abdomen.
The singer and rapper died early Sunday as a result of his wound.
Billboard.com said no information has been released regarding arrests, potential suspects or motives.
Video footage of the shooting has been posted on YouTube and has been viewed nearly 4 million times, the music magazine said.
