LOS ANGELES, July 2 (UPI) -- Paris Jackson, who remains hospitalized in Los Angeles following a suicide attempt last month, is thanking her fans for their support.

"My daughter has asked that I extend a huge thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers and support. She is strong like her father," Jackson's mother, Debbie Rowe, tweeted last Saturday.

Jackson is the 15-year-old daughter of the late pop music icon Michael Jackson.

She was admitted to the psychiatric facility at UCLA Medical Center after cutting her arm with a kitchen knife and taking dozens of Motrin pills June 5.

The high-school student is expected to fully recover from her injuries and is being treated for depression, her family has said.
