Motorhead cancels two shows after Lemmy falls ill

MILAN, Italy, June 26 (UPI) -- British heavy metal band Motorhead canceled two shows in Europe after 67-year-old front man Lemmy suffered a hematoma, promoters said.

The group scrapped a show in Milan Tuesday night and is canceling a June 22 appearance at the See-Rock Festival in Austria after Lemmy, whose real name is Ian Fraser Kilmister, fell ill.

Barley Arts Promotion, the promoter behind the Milan show, explained in a Facebook posting the cancellation was "caused by a severe hematoma which makes it impossible at the moment on stage."

No other details about Lemmy's condition were immediately available.
