Bruno Mars' mother unexpectedly dies of brain aneurysm

HONOLULU, June 2 (UPI) -- Singer-songwriter Bruno Mars' mother, Bernadette Hernandez, died of a brain aneurysm at the age of 55 in Honolulu, Hawaii, TMZ reported Sunday.

Hernandez died at the Queens Medical Center, the celebrity gossip website said.

She was a hula dancer and had immigrated to the United States from the Philippines.

Mars is set to begin a U.S. tour later this month, TMZ said. There was no word on whether the death would affect the concert schedule.
