LONDON, May 17 (UPI) -- George Michael's publicist says the British pop star is expected to fully recover from injuries sustained when the Range Rover in which he was riding crashed.

The single-vehicle accident on England's M1 motorway happened at around 5:50 p.m. local time Thursday.

Michael's publicist confirmed the collision to TMZ, but did not say who was driving the Range Rover or what it hit.

"[George] sustained a head injury and following treatment, stabilization and immobilization by land and air ambulance crews, he was flown to the hospital for further care," a spokesman for the emergency response crew said in a statement to TMZ.
