NEW YORK, May 8 (UPI) -- "Cuff Me: The Fifty Shades of Grey Musical Parody" is set to open this month off-Broadway, the show's producers announced.

Opening night is scheduled for May 19 at the Actors Temple Theater in Manhattan, Entertainment Events said.

Inspired by E.L. James' best-selling erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey," the stage show was written by Bradford McMurran, Jeremiah Albers and Sean Michael Devereux of the Virginia sketch-comedy and improv group, The Pushers. The parody was conceived by Tim Flaherty, who is also a contributing author, along with Sonya Carter, who is directing.

The cast features Matthew Brian Bagley, Laurie Elizabeth Gardner, Alex Gonzalez and Tina Jensen.

"Grab your girlfriends and get ready to laugh at this sexy, and hysterical romp," a news release said. "'Cuff Me! The Fifty Shades of Grey Musical Parody' will have you dancing in the aisles as the cast-of-four belts out hilarious parodies of hit songs from your favorite artists, all while spoofing the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' book."
