LOS ANGELES, April 27 (UPI) -- A handful of Rolling Stones fans got a rare treat Saturday when the band announced a last-minute show at a Los Angeles club for $20 a ticket -- cash only.

Rumors of the gig began circulating Friday night and people were in line before 1 a.m. Saturday at the El Rey theater box office in the city's Wilshire District, LA Weekly reported.

However, tickets for the show -- at the Echoplex -- were distributed by lottery, so everyone had the same chance to get in regardless of how long they stood in line, the publication said.

The Saturday night show is part of the Stones' preparation for their upcoming "50 and Counting" anniversary tour, which begins May 3 at Staples Center, the Los Angeles Times said.

Tickets for that show are still available, but only some cheap seats, the newspaper said -- and they cost $250.
