SANTA MONICA, Calif., Feb. 15 (UPI) -- The Proclaimers will release their ninth album, "Like Comedy," in the United States this spring and will tour to support it, 429 Records announced Friday.

The follow-up to the album "Notes & Rhymes" is to go on sale April 9. "Like Comedy" was released earlier this year in the United Kingdom.

The Proclaimers' series of U.S. acoustic shows is to kick off in Brooklyn, N.Y., April 11 and will run through the month. Singer-songwriter JP will be the opening act for all dates.

"We very much look forward to touring the USA again and doing acoustic versions of some of the old and new songs and to seeing older and newer fans at the shows," twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid -- The Proclaimers -- said in a statement.
