LOS ANGELES, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Zac Brown, Brittany Howard, Mumford & Sons, Elton John and Mavis Staples are to perform a tribute to the late Levon Helm at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

The Grammy Awards ceremony honoring last year's best in music is to take place Sunday at the Staples Center.

T Bone Burnett will serve as musical director for the special tribute to Helm, which is to take place during the In Memoriam segment of the show.

The Arkansas-born rock musician and actor died last April after a long battle with cancer. He was 71.

Helm is famous for being a drummer and singer with The Band -- which recorded the hits "The Weight," "Up on Cripple Creek," "Ophelia" and "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down." The Band was perhaps best known for its 1978 album and Martin Scorsese-directed concert film "The Last Waltz."
