Dad who drowned sons gets death penalty

TROTWOOD, Ohio, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Funk music singer Leroy "Sugarfoot" Bonner has died of cancer in Trotwood, Ohio, his family said. He was 69.
TMZ reported Monday the Ohio Players lead singer died during the weekend.
"While his family, friends, colleagues, and fans mourn his passing, they celebrate fondly his memory, music and legacy," a posting on his Facebook page said.
The Ohio Players, whose roots date to 1959 as the Ohio Untouchables, are known for their hits "Love Rollercoaster" and "Fire." They disbanded in 2002.
