Quebec students strip-searched during exam

ISLAMABAD, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Renowned Pakistani singer Mehnaz Begum died in Bahrain after suffering from respiratory problems. She was 55.
Begum died Saturday while making her way to the United States for health treatment, the Indo-Asian News Service reported.
The the daughter of popular sub-continental singer Kajjan Begum, Mehnaz Begum sang in a variety of genres including ghazal, thumri, dadra, khayal and drupad and had a number of songs featured in films and television.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Saturday offered their condolences over Begum's death, The News International reported.
Zardari called Begum a loss to the music industry prayed for her eternal peace.
