NEWTOWN, Conn., Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Paul Simon sang his classic song "The Sound of Silence" at the funeral for a Connecticut teacher killed shielding her first-grade students from a gunman.

E! News said the Grammy Award winner was among the mourners at Wednesday's service for Vicki Soto, 27.

Soto was one of the 26 victims of last Friday's mass shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newtown, Conn. The gunman also killed his mother and himself.
