LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- U.S. singer Toni Braxton said via Twitter she has been hospitalized for complications from lupus.

"Hey guys, I'm in the hospital for health issues related to Lupus & Blood clots, I will be home soon...Thanks for all the love&support! Xoxo," the recording artist tweeted Friday.

"Her doctors expect her to do just fine and recover completely. It is just a side effect of living with lupus," her publicist told E! News.

Braxton confirmed in 2010 she was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease.
