10-year-old Ukrainian wins kids Eurovision

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- A 10-year-old Ukrainian, Anastasia Petrik, won the 10th annual children's Eurovision contest with a song she wrote, "Nebo (The Sky,)" contest officials said.

The contest, part of the popular Eurovision franchise, featured young talents from Albania, Russia, Sweden and a host of other countries, ITAR-Tass reported Sunday. The contest was held in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Fourth place went to Russia's Valeria Yevgalycheva, 13, who performed her own song, "Sensation" under her stage name, Lerika.

Petrik's sister, Victoria Petrik, came in second at the 2008 contest.
