EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Nov. 14 (UPI) -- The Dave Matthews Band Wednesday pledged $1 million to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts in New Jersey and New York.

The group said its winter tour opening concert, featuring special guest Jimmy Cliff, Nov. 30 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J., also has become a fundraiser for Hurricane Sandy recovery. All proceeds, including ticket sales and merchandise, will go to the Bama Works Sandy Relief Fund.

Proceeds from tickets purchased prior to the announcement of the benefit will also be donated to the fund, the band said.
