'Gangnam Style' double platinum in U.S.

SEOUL, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- South Korean rapper Psy's single "Gangnam Style" has sold more than 2 million copies, the Recording Industry Association of America Inc. said Saturday.

The viral song and video has been certified double platinum by the association, Yonhap News Agency reported.

Psy is currently on a tour of Europe before moving on to the United States. He is scheduled to appear Sunday on the MTV Europe Music Awards in Frankfurt, before heading Nov. 18 to Los Angeles to perform at the American Music Awards.

He is then scheduled to appear Nov. 22 on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
