ATLANTA, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- The parents of Atlanta R&B singer Natina Reed said they are planning a public wake and funeral for their daughter Friday and Saturday.

Reed, who would have turned 33 on Sunday, was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing Lawrenceville Highway, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday.

No charges are pending against the driver who struck her, police said.

Reed's parents and police want to know why she was walking along the road.

Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities.

Reed is known for singing with the late 1990s R&B group Blaque and for her roles in films such as "Bring it On."

Reed was a protege of TLC's Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes who also died in an accident.
