Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy break up

NEW YORK, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- U.S. country music star Taylor Swift has broken up with Conor Kennedy after dating the high school senior several months, UsMagazine.com reported Thursday.

"They quietly parted ways a while ago," a friend told the magazine. "It was just a distance thing. No hard feelings. They're fine."

Swift, 22, began dating Kennedy, the 18-year-old grandson of late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, in July.

The singer is now on the promotional trail for her new album, "Red."
