AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Country singer Randy Travis was naked and threatened police when he was arrested in Texas on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, authorities said.

TMZ reported Travis, 53, was charged with DWI, as well as retaliation and obstruction after police picked him up late Tuesday following a single-car crash.

Travis sustained minor cuts and bruises when he drove his 1998 Pontiac Trans Am off a road into barricades in a construction zone, the celebrity news Web site said.

After his arrest, he rode naked to the Grayson County Sheriff's Office and allegedly threatened to harm the officers transporting him. He was released Wednesday morning after posting $21,500 bail.

TMZ said the officers lent him a shirt to wear for his booking photo.

The recording artist also was arrested in February for public intoxication for allegedly drinking in front of a Baptist church.
