LOS ANGELES, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- The surviving original members of The Monkees -- Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork -- Wednesday announced plans for a 12-date U.S. concert tour.

The band will be reuniting for a string of shows between Nov. 8 and Dec. 2. These will be the group's first live performances since lead singer Davy Jones died in February of a heart attack at the age of 66.

"So the big news from here is that I made the most amazing gazpacho tonight -- miracle gazpacho. A miracle because I have no idea how I did it and could never do it again," Nesmith wrote in a message on the Web site. "And Micky and Peter and I are going to do twelve concerts in November here in the States. That's really all I've got. Going to bed now. I'll post pictures of the cracker and the gazpacho tomorrow, maybe. Maybe not."

The tour is to begin Nov. 8 in Escondido, Calif.

The Monkees had a television show from 1966-1968 and recorded four No. 1 albums. They broke up in 1971 but reunited several times.

Jones, Dolenz and Tork toured together last year to mark The Monkees' 45th anniversary. The foursome last played together in 1997.
