VIENNA, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Romanian pianist Mihaela Ursuleasa died of a suspected brain hemorrhage in her apartment in her adopted hometown of Vienna, her representatives said.

She was 33 when she was found dead Thursday morning.

"We have not only lost a wonderful person but one of the greatest artists our musical world has known," a statement on her official Web site said. "We are in deep sorrow because of her sudden unexpected death. Our thoughts are with her daughter and her mother."

Ursuleasa had been due to play with the National Youth Orchestra Saturday in Berlin, the BBC said.

She won the Clara Haskil Competition in 1995 and performed at renowned venues such as Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, the Philharmonie Cologne, Konzerthaus Vienna, Tonhalle Zurich and Carnegie Hall in New York.

Her second solo album, "Romanian Rhapsody," was released in March 2011.
