O.J. Simpson's ex-girlfriend says he threatened her, compared her to Nicole
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- No Use for a Name front man Tony Sly has died at the age of 41, his Northern California punk-rock band said on its label's Web site.
E! said the cause and other circumstances surrounding his death Wednesday were not immediately disclosed.
"It is with great sorrow that we must say goodbye to Tony Sly of No Use For A Name," the band said in a statement on the Fat Wreck Chords Web site.
"We received a call earlier today of his passing, and are devastated. We have lost an incredible talent, friend, and father -- one of the true greats. [Producer] Fat Mike had this to say: 'One of my dearest friends and favorite song writers has gone way too soon. Tony, you will be greatly missed.'"
E! said Sly joined the band in 1989, replacing founding member John Meyer. The band is best known for its popular 1993 video for "Soulmate."
