KRISTIANSAND, Norway, July 29 (UPI) -- Norway customs officials have barred rapper Snoop Dogg from entering the country for two years after discovering marijuana in his possession, his lawyer said.

Officials discovered eight grams of marijuana and an illegal amount of bundled cash when he attempted to go through customs June 28 at Kjevic Airport in Kristiansand, NME.com reported. He was fined about $2,000, which he paid on the spot, TMZ reported.

Snoop Dogg was on his way to perform at the Hove festival at the time of the incident, NME.com reported.

His lawyers said he "can live with the decision" to keep him from entering the country and he has no plans to appeal.
