LOS ANGELES, July 18 (UPI) -- U.S. pop star Janet Jackson is not supportive of her 14-year-old niece Paris' decision to act professionally while still a child, sources told UsMagazine.com.

Paris is one of the three children of Janet's singer brother, Michael, who died in 2009.

The teen has spoken publicly about her plans to act in the movie "Lundon's Bridge and the Three Keys," which is due for release in 2014. But Janet is afraid doing so goes against her late sibling's wishes that his children not work until they are at least 18, UsMagazine.com said.

"She feels it goes against Michael's wishes to keep his kids out of the limelight until age 18," an insider told the magazine. "Janet thinks Paris should enjoy being a kid and possibly go to college. ... It's a huge dispute!"

Paris and her brothers, Prince Michael and Blanket, are being raised by Janet and Michael's mother, Katherine.

Janet and Michael, as well as their siblings, grew up performing professionally.
