KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, July 15 (UPI) -- Teenage Malaysians were on the lookout for Canadian pop star Justin Bieber at the airport and area hotels as he traveled to Kuala Lumpur for a performance.

Bieber arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Thursday with girlfriend and fellow pop star Selena Gomez, BikyaMasr.com reported Sunday.

He was in town to perform at the MTV World Stage Saturday night along with Korean musicians Jay Park and Kara.

Two 16-year-old fans told BikyaMasr.com they staked out the airport and Bieber's hotel for a chance to see their favorite pop star.

"We couldn't seem them or get any security guard to tell us where he was landing or where he was going," a girl identified only as Rina said. "We tried, but nothing."

"We want to meet him and show him we are his biggest fans," said her friend Nora. "He's my dream," she added.
