Classical stars at Tanglewood gala

BOSTON, July 14 (UPI) -- A top-tier lineup of classical musicians was on the bill for Saturday's concert marking the 75th anniversary of the Tanglewood concert venue in Massachusetts.

Pianist Peter Serkin, Emanuel Ax and Yo-Yo Ma will take the stage with conductors John Williams and Keith Lockhart and singer James Taylor.

Saturday's Gala Concert event will salute Tanglewood's long-running role in the U.S. classical music scene. The (Springfield, Mass.) Republican said the occasion will also include the video presentation of the first Tanglewood Medal to Japanese conductor Seiji Ozawa, who led the Boston Symphony for 29 years.
